Joy

I love to laugh. I love to be happy. Really who doesn't? You can tell the days that I am happy because it is full of laughter. One of the best sounds in the world is a child laughing at something. There was one boy in Billings that after he would tell a joke he would laugh and laugh and laugh and hold his stomach. I loved hearing that. I remember as a child and even now laughing so hard that I can't breath and my stomach hurts and just feeling happy and looking forward to the rest of the day.

Laughter to me means that either I am happy or the person who is laughing is happy. True happiness leads us to feel joy in our lives. We know that it is our purpose to feel joy and to be happy. "...Men are, that they might have joy." 2 Nephi 2:25 Joy is something that I am always looking for. Joy is eternal happiness. When I have joy I know that not only will I feel that happiness now but I will feel that happiness for eternity. The thing that brings me the most joy is knowing that Jesus Christ died for me, that He took upon Himself my sins and that I can always change to be a better person. I also know that He did that for everyone on the planet, all those who live now, all those who have lived, and all those who will live.

So the next time that you are feeling down on yourself just remember what Christ has done for you and feel the joy. Also a day without laughter is a day wasted.
